1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Tressence website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must not use the service.

2. Description of Service

Tressence provides a personalised hair care recommendation service. You complete a quiz about your hair type, scalp condition, and lifestyle. We use AI technology to generate a personalised hair care report delivered to your email address. The service is provided on a one-time purchase basis per report.

3. Service Provided "As Is"

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TRESSENCE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that recommendations will produce any particular result for your hair or scalp. Individual results will vary depending on factors outside our control, including but not limited to your specific hair biology, product availability in your region, and how recommendations are applied.

4. Medical Disclaimer (Repeated for Clarity)

Tressence recommendations are cosmetic in nature. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. Scalp conditions such as seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, alopecia, and similar conditions require professional medical assessment. Our references to such conditions within reports are for informational context only and do not replace a professional diagnosis or treatment plan. You acknowledge that you use the service at your own discretion and that Tressence bears no liability for outcomes related to your health or medical condition.

5. Payments and Refunds

All purchases are processed securely through Stripe. The current price for a Tressence hair analysis report is displayed at the time of purchase. Due to the immediate digital delivery of the personalised report, all sales are final and non-refundable once the report has been generated and delivered to your email address. If you did not receive your report, please contact us within 7 days of purchase.

6. Use of AI Technology

Your hair profile data is processed by an AI language model (Anthropic Claude) to generate personalised recommendations. While we design our prompts carefully to produce accurate and relevant output, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors or inconsistencies. Recommendations should be evaluated with your own judgement and, where relevant, with the guidance of a professional.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise extract proprietary content or data from the service
  • Provide false or misleading information in the quiz
  • Share, resell, or commercially distribute your personal report without our written consent

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tressence shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or personal injury, arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific report giving rise to the claim.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the Tressence platform, including the AI-generated report delivered to you, is owned by or licensed to Tressence. Your personal report is provided for your personal, non-commercial use only.

10. Privacy

Your use of the service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation in the first instance.
